Guduchi is an important part of the Ayurvedic category of Rasayanas, or rejuvenative tonics. Human studies conducted on Guduchis immune-boosting ability show it to be linked to enhancing the function of protective cells called macrophages. The plant is used to improve the immune system and the bodys resistance to infections. The stem is used in dyspepsia, fevers, and urinary diseases. Its principle constituents are tinosporine, tinosporide, tinosporaside, cordifolide, cordifol, heptacosanol, clerodane furano diterpene, diterpenoid furanolactone tinosporidine, columbin and §-sitosterol. The active principles and juice of the fresh plant possess a number of pharmacological activities. It is bitter, stomachic, antiperiodic, aphrodisiac. Guduchi is useful in chronic diarrhea, to remove urinary stones (Calculi), as a diuretic, CNS depressant, hypoglycemic, antibacterial, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, antiallergic, analgesic, hepatoprotective, and to reduce blood urea. The plant is used in Ayurvedic rasayanas to improve the immune system and the bodys resistance against infections. It is used as an immunomodulator in immunosuppression of obstructive jaundice, hepatic fibrosis, peritonitis and sepsis. The plant has been found effective in preventing fibrous changes and promotes regeneration of the liver against CCl4 induced hepato toxicity. Guduchi has been proven to be effective in inhibiting the growth of bacteria and enhancing the buildup of immune resistance. Scientific research is now providing clues to Guduchis immune-boosting ability to fight diseases. In a study using human white blood cells, Guduchi increased the killing ability of macrophages, the immune cells responsible for fighting invaders.
The herb also carries anti-inflammatory and antipyretic action. The plant has been used in Ayurvedic rasayanas that build up the immune system and the body's resistance against specific infecting organisms. In a study using human WBC (white blood cells), the herb increased the killing capability of macrophages, the immune cells those are responsible for fighting foreign materials including microorganisms
There are many uses of Tinospora. The stem is used in general debility, dyspepsia, pyrexias (fevers) and many urinary tract diseases. The bitter properties present in the drug show antiperiodic and antispasmodic properties.
It is also used as an immune-modulator in immune-suppression of certain diseases such as obstructive jaundice, hepatic fibrosis, peritonitis and sepsis. The Tinospora has been discovered very effective in preventing fibrous changes and promoting regeneration of the liver against CCl4 induced hepatic toxicity.
The herb helps in increasing the effectiveness of protective WBC (white blood cells) and builds up the body's own defense mechanism called as immune system.
Guduchi will also enhance the functioning of protective cells, macrophages and will improve body's resistance to infections. Guduchi is a very good and useful diuretic agent that helps removing urinary stones and reducing blood urea. Tinospora can inhibit growth of microorganisms and can develop immunity naturally. Tinospora has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, and anti-allergic actions.
Some of the health experts also prescribe Tinospora for some sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea. The herb is useful in treating various skin diseases and in some cases, hyperacidity too.
For maximum benefits, Tinospora has been scientifically formalized by plenty of clinical studies. Its formula has been subjected to the modern examination of clinical testing to prove its benefits in gently addressing the health concerns, and its quality is controlled by the most advanced chromatographic techniques.
When the herb is dried and then pure extract is derived, it becomes the ‘Guduchi Ghana satva’. It is very fine powder that carries great properties of the herb Guduchi. The favorable thing Guduchi satva carries that even in minor doses, it works wonderfully.
